SilverTail continues to forge ahead. New technical and design developments offer a different angle on the custom market, with product a which blend style and high performance. With the K02 range, SilverTail offers Europe the USA-derived vision of the "metric cruiser".
K02 is an all-steel exhaust, deeply chromed to ensure that the product will never lose its polish.
Its chrome will not change colour, much to the delight of the perceptive custom biker.

Technical Features
The K02 range is made of chromed steel. The chroming process is undertaken in-house to achieve a uniformly high surface finish. The plating process is fully automated, with computerised time control of the immersion of the parts in the tanks.
The welding process used is the TIG system, either without welding material, or where necessary using filler rod. The welded joints of the collector pipes are internally ground to achieve the best gas-flow, removing any chance of this being affected by build-up of weld. The manufacturing techniques and processing cycles used guarantee tight tolerances. This results in perfectly fitting header pipes, with no gas leaks.
An additional feature is the use of our special exhaust clamps with screw adjustment.
Silvertail has given top priority to K02 range detail and practicality, as well as appearance. Examples of this are the collector balance pipes used where appropriate to allow the engine to fulfil its highest potential, and the chromed clamps which fix the collectors to the silencer. Then there is the “snap” attachment which makes it possible to replace the original silencer end cap with other style options which are sold separately.
A distinctive K02 feature is the chromed steel embellisher clamped to the exhaust pipe to hide any discoloration.
This keeps the chrome finish looking good near the cylinder heads where the highest temperatures are generated, particularly on big bikes. Detailed instructions are included to facilitate assembly.

Performance
The main objective of the K02 product range is to eliminate the holes in the power and torque curves of original exhaust systems, thereby achieving improved performance, especially at lower engine speeds. Although the K02 range gives priority to performance levels at lower speeds, performance is guaranteed to improve throughout the whole engine range. This result has been achieved by developing specific systems for each bike.

Type Approval
One particular characteristic of SilverTail exhaust systems is full compliance with EEC regulations for the whole product line. SilverTail users can ride the streets of Europe without infringing the law. The EEC gives full authorisation to the use of after-market components as long as these satisfy EEC regulations. Each system is appropriately marked, and for added clarity, comes with additional documentation relating to homologation data.
All this is the result of experience gained by SilverTail technicians in the development of special homologated products. This experience helps us reduce research and development times, and results in exciting products which still satisfy EEC regulations.
